    Dr Victor Rosenthal

    Born in Argentina, Dr Rosenthal obtained a Masters Degree in Science, and in Clinical Effectiveness, at the University of Buenos Aires (BA), Argentina. He is certified in Infection Control (IC) and Hospital Epidemiology (HE), and graduated in Clinical Effectiveness at Harvard University. Dr Rosenthal completed residency programs on Internal Medicine and is certified by the Argentinean MOH. He also completed residency programs on Infectious Diseases (ID) and is certified in by the Medical College of BA. He holds an ID fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, USA.
    Dr Rosenthal currently works as Director of ID, IC and HE Department at two Argentine Hospitals. He is Director of IC and HE Superior Course at Medical College of BA, he is Professor at Valparaiso University, Chile and was a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin, USA.

    As editorial board member and also as a reviewer of peer review journals, Dr Rosenthal cooperates with 'AJIC', USA; 'International Federation of Infection Control', Global; 'Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials', Turkey; and 'Infectio', Colombia. As reviewer, he currently cooperates with 'ICHE'; 'Critical Care Medicine'; 'Emerging ID', from the CDC; and 'Epidemiology and Infection'. In 2005, Dr Rosenthal reviewed the Hand Hygiene Guidelines for the World Health Organisation.

    Dr Rosenthal is member of the APIC international committee, and Board Member of the IC committee of ID Society of Argentina. He has organised the 2nd IC and HE Pan American Congress held in BA in 1998 and the 5th IC and HE Pan American Congress held in 2004 in Peru. From 1996 to 1998 performed as secretary of IC Committee of the ID Pan American Association.

    Dr Rosenthal is Director and Coordinator of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) a multinational research network of around 200 researchers from 60 Cities, at 15 Countries, in 4 continents.

    Dr Nick Graves

    Dr Nick Graves is a Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics with a joint appointment in the School of Public Health, Queensland University of Technology, and the Centre for Healthcare Related Infection Control and Surveillance, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. Dr Graves' current research programme includes: the economics of healthcare acquired infection (HAI); the economics of screening for chronic and infectious diseases; cost-effectiveness and health related behaviour for chronic conditions; and, modelling the relationship between depression and workplace productivity. Dr Graves has made research contributions of international significance and published in AIDS, Health Economics, The Journal of Infectious Diseases and Emerging Infectious Diseases.

    Dr Ann Bull, Epidemiologist, VICNISS Coordinating Centre, Melbourne, Victoria
    Dr Bull completed a PhD in molecular biology before working for 8 years with the Commonwealth Environment Department in Canberra and then in Kakadu National Park. Before commencing at VICNISS she completed a Masters in Applied Epidemiology while located at the Australia New Zealand Food Authority in Canberra. Dr Bull has an interest in the application of information technology systems for improving health.
