INVITATION TO ATTEND
On behalf of the organizing committee I would like to cordially invite you to the next biennial meeting of The Movement Disorder Society of Australia to be held in Melbourne over the weekend of 16th & 17th March 2002. Late summer, early autumn is a particularly pleasant time to visit Melbourne. With the annual meeting of the AAN being held in conjunction with the CCNS in Vancouver next year, the meeting in March will be the sole meeting of the Society for 2002.The meeting will be held at the Novotel situated on the foreshore at St Kilda. The venue has been selected not only for its high standard of accommodation and meeting facilities but to allow all registrants to experience one of Melbourne's most vibrant areas. The Novotel is situated within a short stroll of Melbourne's famous Acland and Fitzroy streets, in the heart of the restaurant district, in close proximity to Luna Park, the Palais theatre, the Albert Park Formula One Grand Prix track (which will have been held the weekend before) and of course St. Kilda beach. There are several tram routes immediately adjacent to the Novotel for easy access to all parts of inner Melbourne. We encourage delegates to bring partners and families so as to sample the wide variety of activities in this superb part of Melbourne. We have organised an exciting scientific program which will cover some of the major therapeutic advances in the management of both early and advanced Parkinson's Disease as well as covering a broad range of topics of current interest in movement disorders more generally. Two international guests will give plenary lectures. Further details will follow soon. l look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne.
