    LETTERS OF INVITATION

    Letters of Invitation are not required for visa applications. It is advised that registered delegates to the Conference provide their confirmation of registration to expedite visa applications for entry into Australia. The Conference Organising Committee will be pleased to send Letters of Invitation to any delegate making such a request. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential attendees raise travel and registration fee funds. It is not a commitment on the part of the Conference to provide any financial support. Please apply in writing to the Secretariat.

    The Welcome Reception will be held at the picturesque Lorne Golf Club, situated on a cliff top overlooking Lorne and the crashing waves of Loutit Bay.

    The Councils of LCPG and ICG HNPCC would like to welcome you to Lorne and the conference at this function. Additional tickets can be purchased at a cost of AUD$50.00 per person.

    There is an abundance of additional tour options available. Perhaps a sunset viewing of The Fairy Penguins at Phillip Island followed by a lobster dinner. Healesville Fauna Sanctuary where you must cuddle a koala or even The Dandenong Ranges in Autumn which are quite spectacular.     Its time to discover Melbourne at her very best. Begin with a Foodies Dream Tour of the Queen Victoria Market. This market is a pulsating, vibrant tapestry of activity where over 1,000 stall-holders stand as rivals for the trade of 50,000 shoppers each week. Stroll the aisles in the company of a market guide, amid the infectious banter of those cheeky traders, learning the tricks and bartering for the best buys. Everywhere you wander over this tour it will be 'Taste and Sample', 'Taste and Sample'. We then 'jump' on a tram to discover some of the interesting aspects of Melbourne, her arcades, her architecture, her history and some of her art. Tour includes : Tram pass, tour guide and market tour.

    GREAT OCEAN ROAD TOUR INCLUDING THE 12 APOSTLES AND OTWAY RANGES

    Cost: Adult: AUD$60.00 per person Child: AUD$40.00

    See spectacular scenery along the breathtaking Great Ocean Road, including Bells Beach (world famous surfing venue) and the hundreds of kangaroos that graze on the golf course at Angelsea. Continue past sleepy coastal towns, spectacular cliff side views along the forever-winding road to Apollo Bay where we walk along the beach. The Otway National Park unfolds ahead revealing a wealth of greenery; ferns and mosses nestle in secluded damp gullies dwarfed by giant families of Blue Gum and Mountain Ash trees. We join the shipwreck cost where many ships were lost in savage storms. This stretch of the coast is wild and woolly, dramatic and awesome. See the 12 Apostles - huge stone monoliths that rise out of the seas, each eroded by pounding waves, onshore winds and the passage of time.

    NB: Note that the selection of this tour is an alternate method of transfer from Melbourne to the Lorne Conference Venues.

    Tours depart and return to the Cumberland Lorne Resort.

    Tour to a pioneering town that boasts a quality contemporary fine art gallery. Relax and enjoy the exhibited works, taste local wines and enjoy a variety of coffees, teas and cakes,. Before returning to Lorne we take a walk into the coolness of the forest to beautiful Erskine Waterfalls.

    FRIDAY 5th MARCH

    The Moped Jaunt

    Time: 09:30 - 12:00 hours

    Cost: AUD$45.00 per person

    A fun ride on a motorised pushbike with guide. Ride the Lorne Hill to Teddys Lookout overlooking the Great Ocean Road and sea. Hear about the shipwrecks and pioneers of last century. Short ride to Qdos Gallery where fine art and morning tea awaits. Please note that tickets are limited for this tour, so book early to avoid disappointment.

    SUNDAY 7th MARCH

    WILDLIFE & WINE/TRAVEL TO TULLAMARINE (MELBOURNE AIRPORT)

    Time: 09:00 - 15:00 hours

    Ex: Cumberland Lorne Resort

    Terminate: City drop approx 15:00 hours/Airport drop approx 15:45 hours

    Cost: AUD$46.00 per person. Based on a minimum of 10 passengers travelling.

    Tour to the Brisbane Ranges for a short walk with guide with a chance to view koalas and other Australian wildlife in their natural environment. Wine tastings at Staughton Vale Vineyard to sample chardonnay, rhine reisling, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and pinot noir. Relax and enjoy lunch at the vineyard restaurant. Tour includes: transport, guide, wine tastings and lunch. Drinks at lunch at your own expense.

    Please Note: Selection of this tour is an alternate method of transfer from Lorne to Melbourne Airport.


    ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

    A range of additional activities is available for you to take part in during your stay in Lorne. Take part in the local culture by booking a dolphin tour, a trip to 12 Apostles or even some surfing lessons. The Lorne area is surrounded by forests, which are easily navigated and very safe to walk in. The options are endless.
