CONGRESS INVITATION

We are honoured to convene ISUOG's 2001 World Congress, the first visit of this prestigious meeting to our region. A city of over 3 million people, Melbourne is regarded as one of the world's great multicultural centres. Melbourne is the heart of the beautiful, compact state of Victoria. Known as the 'Garden State', Victoria has many outstanding attractions from spectacular mountain and coastline scenery to world class wineries, and is a gateway to the many attractions of Australia.

Melbourne also boasts over 4,500 restaurants - covering more than 70 different styles of cuisine.

The Congress will be held at the state of the art Melbourne Convention Centre. The venue is fully equipped with all the latest technology for computer-based presentations and on-line video conferencing. Situated at the banks of the Yarra River in the heart of Melbourne, the Melbourne Convention Centre is within easy walking distance of hundreds of restaurants and many hotels. The World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology is recognised as the leading forum for practitioners in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound to contribute and exchange ideas. We are delighted that our invited speakers have responded so favourably to our meeting. We will showcase the renowned speakers from around the world. They will present both on ISUOG advanced obstetrical and gynecological state of the art courses, which will run in parallel with sessions covering their recent research data. In addition, we welcome your current work as a submitted paper or poster. Sessions of submitted papers - including young investigators presentations will run unopposed by invited speakers papers. Our goal is to provide a forum for education and presentation of new work for all practitioners of obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound.

The social program will enable registrants to enjoy multicultural Melbourne, including dinner overlooking Melbourne at Flemington Racecourse, the home of the Melbourne Cup.

Melbourne is a very attractive city especially during Spring, where there are many festivals including the Melbo urne Cup. It proudly offers the very best in contemporary art, design and theatre. We hope that you will also take the opportunity to visit other parts of our varied continent.
