The International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA)* provides healthcare professionals and scientists with information about behavioural and biological aspects of mental health in the elderly. Through publications and meetings, IPA keeps professionals in close touch with current use and international perspectives on research, clinical practice, innovative developments, and significant literature related to the field. In addition, IPA works actively to advance research and education and promote international consensus and understanding of psychogeriatric issues.

Founded in 1982, IPA is the leading multidisciplinary, international, non-profit organization with a primary focus on psychogeriatrics. Members include psychiatrists, internists, geriatricians, general practitioners, primary care providers, family physicians, neurologists, nurses, pharmacologists, psychologists, social workers, and other specialists.
