  • Pre-Conference Workshops: Noah's on the Beach

Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 November

Two pre-conference workshops are to be held over two days Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 November. All workshops are to be run at Noahs on the Beach and delegates are recommended to get accommodation at that venue. Delegates will be sent further details and a timetable prior to the workshops.

  • Workshop 1- Landfill Design

All technical aspects of municipal landfill design will be covered in this two day course, including the most up-to-date design recommendations and reviewing state-of-the-art information on the performance of new geosynthetic products. The coursework will be presented by two North American experts, Professor Kerry Rowe (Queens University, Canada) and Professor Craig Benson (University Madison-Wisconsin, USA). This course is highly recommended for all engineers involved in the design and management of waste disposal facilities.

  • Workshop 2 - Management of Acid Sulphate Soils

This two day course covers the latest research findings on acid sulphate soils, through to understanding and implementing the latest acid soil management techniques. The course will be presented by A/Prof Leigh Sullivan (University of Southern Cross), a leading Australian expert who is familiar with all aspects of acid sulphate soil management. The course is highly recommended for soil scientists, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineers and those involved in implementing and managing regulatory requirements associated with acid soils.

  • You can register for either of these workshops using the GeoEnv registration form.

  • Conference Papers

FINAL DUE DATE FOR PAPERS WAS 29 JUNE 2001

Draft papers were due to the conference secretariat by 30 May for review. A final reminder notice was forwarded to all presenters. If draft papers were not received by 29 June, it is possible that your paper has beeen withdrawn from the conference due to publishing deadlines. Paper guidelines and the paper template were forwarded to all invited speakers and submitted abstracts via mail and again via email.

    Conference Proceedings

The Conference Proceedings will be provided to all registered delegates. If you are not attending and you wish to receive a copy of the proceedings for GeoEnvironment 2001, please register your interest by sending an email to geoenv@icms.com.au, giving your name, company or affiliation, and number of copies required.

The cost of the proceedings will be published in the registration brochure. The conference secretariat will contact you to advise you of the total cost of your purchase at this time.
