Dear Colleagues On behalf of the Organising Committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the Society's 21st Annual Scientific Meeting to be held from 5 - 7 October 2006 at Telstra Dome, Melbourne, Australia.This Meeting is the primary scientific and business meeting of our Society, and attracts 200-250 delegates from Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region. Delegates include Neurologists, Neurological and Epileptology Trainees, Nurses, Scientists and lay workers involved in epilepsy research or patient orientated activities. The themes of the 2006 Meeting are: Imaging of Epileptogenesis and Epilepsy ProgressionSyncope and Seizure Mimickers, andOptimising Epilepsy Treatments in the Pharmacogenomics age (the latter as the Merritt-Putnam Symposium that is held on the last day of the meeting). The Organising Committee are planning a stimulating and challenging scientific program featuring international and local speakers who are leaders in the field of epilepsy. We encourage you to contribute to our Meeting by sharing your experience, knowledge and expertise. We look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne in October 2006.
