Pharmacy Australia Congress and the 7th Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Assoc. Conference

Melbourne Convention Centre, Melbourne, Australia

March 11 - 15 1999

INVITATION FROM THE COMMONWEALTH PHARMACEUTICAL ASSOCIATION

The Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association (CPA) promotes the interests of our profession throughout the Commonwealth - the interests of pharmacists from some forty countries with a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures, but united by a common heritage and with a unity of purpose delivering health care to the communities we serve.

Our very first Conference was held in Melbourne in 1972 and established the model for the exchange of views in an environment of fun and fellowship for which CPA Conferences are now renowned. Since then we have met in Africa, India, Canada and the Caribbean, and we look forward to returning to Melbourne to enjoy once again the legendary Australian hospitality.

Pharmacy is strengthened by the sharing of knowledge and the 7th CPA Conference in Melbourne offers us all the opportunity to ensure we are well equipped to meet the challenges Pharmacy is facing at both the local and the international level.

We hope you will join us.

Murtada Sesay

President, CPA

INVITATION FROM THE PHARMACEUTICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA PRESIDENT

With the theme of Practice Excellence through Technology the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association Conference and the Pharmacy Australia Congress (CPA/PAC Conference) in 1999 will provide an opportunity to hear a variety of speakers, network with colleagues from Australia and overseas, socialise and take in some of the many attractions of Melbourne.

The impact of technology on our profession continues to be significant. Drug development and distribution, the exchange of information, record keeping and the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care services all now depend on the efficient use of technology.

As we approach the next millennium the application of technology in all areas of pharmacy practice will become even more significant.

With this focus on technology we are sure that the 1999 CPA/PAC Conference will bring many Commonwealth visitors to Melbourne.

I encourage all Australian pharmacists and their partners to meet with our Commonwealth colleagues in Melbourne 11 - 15 March 1999.

Melbourne is my home town; it is where I was raised, educated and now work as a pharmacist. I can personally assure you of good food, great fun and excellent education in our host city, all of which will make this a most memorable pharmacy conference.

I look forward to sharing this great experience with you.

Tony Nunan

President, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia
