It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend Coasts & Ports 2001 - the 15^th Australasian Coastal and Ocean Engineering Conference and the 8^th Australasian Port and Harbour Conference. The conference is being run under the auspices of the Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust) and the International Navigation Association (PIANC).

The location of this exciting event, on Queensland's Gold Coast, provides attendees with the opportunity to enjoy all that the "Sunshine State" has to offer. A combination of a relaxed atmosphere and a stimulating technical program ensures that this event is one not to be missed!

International and local keynote speakers will discuss not only technical advances but also trends and current directions in coastal management and port development. The program will provide a unique blend of management and technical sessions in an atmosphere that enhances interaction and effective networking. We are honoured to have distinguished and renowned keynote speakers to address the anticipated 200 delegates. These delegates come from the private and public sectors and include academics, consultants, contractors and managers involved in coastal ocean and port development.
