Spatial Information Presentation
The display of spatial information on State and local government, commercial and educational web sites, PowerPoint presentation and reports is increasing. This is mainly due to the advent of low cost geographic information systems and increased availability and integration of spatial information.
The Queensland Spatial Information Council has established an Advisory Group to assist State Government agencies in advising on map presentation in websites, reports and publications. This group is establishing a whole of government approach to presentation standards for spatial data through identifying existing standards and developing new standards or guidelines where gaps occur.
The presentation will look at how this group is advising on the most effective way to visually display multiple spatial layers, how to deal with the overlay of imagery with other data and how to deal with data layers that don’t match up.
