Chairman's Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

We are proud to have the opportunity to invite you to participate in the 6th World Congress on Brain Injury, being held under the auspices of the International Brain Injury Association, in conjunction with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment in Melbourne, Australia, May 5 - 8, 2005.

This 6th biennial meeting will address latest developments in injury prevention, neurobiology and acute management of brain injury, approaches to rehabilitation and community support services. Models of compensation and funding of brain injury medical, rehabilitation and support services in different countries will also be discussed and debated. The conference should be attended by everyone working towards reducing the incidence and impact of these injuries on individuals and their families.

The International Brain Injury Association is dedicated to the development and support of multidisciplinary medical and clinical professionals, advocates, policy makers, consumers and others who work to improve outcomes and opportunities for persons with brain injury. It works to develop positive relations and interactions between individuals, families, groups, organisations, institutions, diverse cultures and nations - and strives to provide international leadership for creative solutions to the issues associated with brain injury.

We look forward to meeting you in Melbourne in May 2005.

Dr David Burke
