The Role of the Family and other Community Support Systems in Brain Injury
This presentation will demonstrate how the establishment of partnerships between Wesley Mission Melbourne, families, Case workers, therapists, Funding bodies and Community agencies has successfully achieved the establishment of an inclusive community for people with ABI.
This session will be a presentation of a community service which has successfully established strong community links for people who are isolated. It will discuss a Case Study of a client moving through the system and not staying reliant on the system.
Presentation will include the processes involved in establishing the partnerships and the pitfalls to look out for. The service is described as a branching out service that enhances individual’s opportunities to facilitate their own steps to their recovery.
