SATURDAY PERFORMANCE - Dr Cade - by Neil Cole Date: Saturday, 7 February 2004 Time: 19:30 - 21:30 Venue: Harbourside Auditorium Cost: Included in registration fee. Dr Cade is a dramatic and finely wrought story. The action moves between Cade's experiences as a prisoner of war in Changi and his post-war research and experiments in a disused kitchen of a hospital in Melbourne leading to the discovery of lithium. It is both a tribute to a pioneering doctor and a heartfelt work lovingly told and performed. Before becoming a writer Neil Cole was a Member of Parliament in Victoria for eleven years. He was the first Australian politician to publicly announce his manic depression. This is his fifth play. This performance is sponsored by Ramsay Healthcare, Beyond Blue and Black Dog Institute.
