Local Tour Program

Sydney has an endless number of attractions and touring for the visitor day or night. This Local Tour Program brings together the best of what Sydney has to offer in a range of tours and events Thursday through to Sunday of the conference. The tours/events also provide an opportunity for those attending the conference to mix together and enjoy the company of international counterparts. An experienced guide giving full narration accompanies each of the tours.

Tours and events may be subject to minimum numbers. In the unlikely event this minimum is not reached a full refund will be made. Conversely certain tours may have limited space only so we recommend you book early.

DEPARTURE ADDRESS
Each of the tours will depart from the main roadside entrance to the Conference venue, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour unless otherwise stated.

MEALS
Lunch is provided on some of the full day tours as indicated. If you have any dietary requirements please e-mail enquiries@congress-events.com.au

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TOURS
Cancellation received before Thursday, 1 January 2004 will be refunded less an administration fee of AUD20.00.

SYDNEY AN ORIENTATION

An introduction to the must see icons of Sydney including Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Harbour Bridge, Kings Cross, Double Bay, Bondi Beach and much more.

BRIDGE CLIMB
Thursday, 5 February
Cost: AUD145.00 Adult and Child (children under 12yrs not permitted)
Departs: 14:00 / Returns: Allow 3.5 hours

Climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and experience views from 134metres above sea level. Climbers are given special ClimbSuits, pre-climb briefing and a safety check.

KANGAROOS AND KOALAS
Friday, 6 & Sunday, 8 February

Visit an award winning wildlife park where you will see a multitude of native animals and birdlife of all description size and colour. Refreshment is included at the park.

BLUE MOUNTAINS
Friday, 6 February
Cost: AUD165.00 (one price only)
Departs: 08:30 / Returns: 17:00

Spend a day travelling the Blue Mountains in a specialequipped four-wheel drive safari vehicle. The rugged scenery is stunning including the towering sandstone cliffs, tree-lined gorges, waterfalls and rock formations. A country style lunch is included.

WOOL OFF THE SHEEP'S BACK
Sunday, 8 February
Cost: Adult AUD135.00 / Child 2-12yrs AUD70.00
Departs: 10:30 / Returns: 17:00

Travel one hour from Sydney to Tobruk Station a 150acres/70 hectare working Merino Sheep Station (Ranch). The property dates back to the late 1800's and has glorious views over the Hawkesbury River and surrounding State Forest. Meet the friendly station hands, the stockman on a horse and the sheep shearer showing his skill. An Aussie BBQ lunch and "bush tucker" is provided.

Entry into Australia - Requirements

All visitors to Australia need a valid passport and Visa. Applications for Visas can be made through Australian Embassies or Consulates in major cities around the world or in some cases through your travel agent. Ask for a business Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) for Australia. For information about Australian missions overseas, how to apply for visas and further information on ETA's, Customs clearance, Quarantine regulations, health issues, arrival and departure and more, contact the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs. Please action early.


ISBD Travel Information

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Sydney international and Sydney domestic airport terminals are about 20 minutes from the city centre. Visitors can reach the central business district and Darling Harbour by taxi, shuttle bus or Airport Link train.

TAXI
The taxi fare from the airport to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and the nearby hotels is approximately AUD50.00 depending on traffic conditions.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE
An airport to hotel shuttle service operates from the domestic terminal. Passengers are to meet at the KST Bus Stop located outside the Qantas and Virgin domestic terminals, just next to the taxi rank. Shuttles depart every 20 minutes, and drop off to each of the conference hotels. A booking is required for the return trip from the hotel. The cost is AUD8.00 one way or AUD13.00 return per person.

AIRPORT LINK
Trains run every 10 minutes. travel time into the CBD takes approximately 13 minutes. The cost is AUD11.00 one way.

These discounts are valid on Qantas* domestic scheduled services subject to group class availability at time of booking. Should the *40% discount economy class fare not be available on a required flight the fare may be upgraded to the next available economy class conference fare ie: 30% and 10% discounts.
