The Advanced Shoulder
This workshop will be a comprehensive exploration of shoulder sonography and will address the more complex issues associated with shoulder examination. Attendees should have at least a basic understanding of shoulder sonography, and all attendees are advised to revise the anatomy of the shoulder prior to attending. In particular this workshop will cover the rotator interval, the supraspinatus/infraspinatus insertion, the spinoglenoid notch, the suprascapular notch and the CA ligament.
Various pathological processes affecting the shoulder will also be covered, particularly the use of colour Doppler in the assessment of the rotator cuff. This will involve a discussion on using appropriate colour Doppler system settings. In light of this, some familiarity with system controls as they relate to colour Doppler will be required. This generic discussion will not be manufacturer specific.
Those attending are invited to submit any difficult cases they wish to have discussed. As this is an advanced workshop, a group discussion on problem solving difficult cases may be of some value. If any person wants to take advantage of this, please email me at csykes@ains.net.au so that your case can be included in the presentation.
