Message of Invitation
Dear ColleagueSydney is an exciting place to be in the year 2000. As well as the Olympic and Paralympic Games, many special events are being staged here this year to celebrate the new century. One of these events is the Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, which is one of the three major meetings held annually on microwave engineering. This year's theme, "Expanding the world of microwaves beyond 2000", emphasises the ever-increasing role of microwave technology in our everyday life, ranging from personal communications to food preparation, that makes APMC 2000 such a special event. Traditionally, the heart of an APMC is the lecture program and this year's Technical Program Committee has done an outstanding job in preparing sessions that cater for all interests. The technical program includes special sessions on diverse topics from smart antennas to superconductivity, and high-profile keynote speakers have accepted our invitation to participate in a plenary session. As well as the technical program, an Exhibition will be staged and we have already received excellent support from companies and institutions from the Asia Pacific region. Clearly, APMC 2000 is going to be an event not to be missed. I suggest you make plans now to attend. At the same time, why not consider taking advantage of one of the post-conference tours on offer. Whatever you choose to do, I look forward to welcoming you to APMC 2000 in December.

Microwave Exhibition & Sponsorship
An Exhibition is planned in association with the Conference and will be located close to the lecture presentations. Expressions of interest are invited from companies and institutions wishing to exhibit equipment, software or services relevant to microwave engineering. Please contact the Conference Secretariat to receive the Exhibition Kit and an update on which booths are still available.Sponsorship opportunities are still available for APMC 2000. Dependent on the financial support your organisation would like to contribute, there are a variety of sponsorship levels. As a Gold, Silver or Bronze Sponsor, your organisation will be able to reach over 300 conference delegates directly involved in microwave technology from industry, government and university sectors, both nationally and internationally. Other types of sponsorship include sponsoring the official conference dinner, conference proceedings, and conference satchels or sponsoring the APMC prize and Student prize. In kind sponsorship will also be considered.
