Invitation to Attend

The Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA) welcomes everyone who is interested in epidemiology, biostatistics and health. Our Annual Conference provides a great opportunity to present your work, to hear interesting speakers and to share your experiences with like-minded individuals. Students and early career researchers in epidemiology, biostatistics and public health are particularly encouraged to attend. For those who are not members of AEA, the registration fees are structured to make it highly worthwhile joining our Association.

This year, four internationally known Australian researchers will be presenting keynote addresses, covering the cutting edge areas of genetic epidemiology, longitudinal studies and healthy ageing. There will be ample time for proffered papers, a dedicated poster session and several workshops, including the student workshop. In addition, there will be a pre-conference workshop on the practicalities of running a longitudinal study. Afterwards, you can unwind at the conference dinner while watching the sun sink over the harbour or perhaps, even see a whale or dolphins frolicking in the harbour. Newcastle is noted for its pristine beaches, world-class vineyards, excellent restaurants and relaxed atmosphere. The conference venue, Noah's on the beach is a perfect spot for networking, with its views to the north along Stockton Bight and to the south over Newcastle beach. There are many other tourist attractions around Newcastle to visit before or after the conference. We look forward to seeing you in October 2005 in Newcastle for what promises to be an exciting and entertaining conference.
