Aim
This session should provide delegates with a framework within which to consider the issues facing safety and quality in health care at the international and national levels for the conference.

To provide an Australian, NZ and international perspective on achievements in healthcare quality improvement and the respective contexts within which improvement challenges are faced.

To explore the need and methods for achieving commitment from Governments for improving all dimensions of health care quality.

Objectives
To explore the challenges and achievements that have been made nationally and internationally in safety and quality in health care.

To stimulate thought on how to address challenges facing people within the health system.

To compare and contrast different experiences in safety and quality improvement.
