Welcome

The Australasian Association for Quality in Health Care in association with the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care, NSW Health and ACT Health would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us at the award-winning National Convention Centre, Canberra for the 2nd Australasian Conference on Safety and Quality in Health Care.

The theme for 2004 is to Communicate, Collaborate and Celebrate improvements in safety and quality and this conference builds on the success of the first Australasian Conference for Safety and Quality in Health Care held in Perth, Australia in 2003. The conference provides further opportunity to meet, network and form partnerships with leaders and key health professionals in the safety and quality in health care field. More importantly delegates can share the most up to date strategies, innovative approaches, theories and tools that seek to enhance the safety and quality of our health care services for consumers.

AAQHC is delighted that the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care continues to support us as a major partner and this year we are pleased that NSW Health and ACT Health are joining us to present this major health care event.

Partnerships such as this are further testament to the successes that can be achieved through commitment to and alignment of agendas at all levels. This approach provides greater opportunities for diversity of topics, programs and speakers, enabling safety and quality issues to be addressed from a whole-of-health perspective. The program has been structured to reflect the diversity of the health care industry and we believe there will be something for everyone to take back with them.

AAQHC would like to thank all those that have worked tirelessly to bring this conference to fruition and to members and other professionals for the level of interest shown in attending and presenting papers. On behalf of AAQHC and our partners, we look forward to welcoming you to Canberra.
