ACT Health is a vibrant and committed organisation that provides a range of co-ordinated health and health care services designed to deliver improved health and community well-being for all. ACT Health is responsible for providing the people of the Australian Capital Territory with the best health care possible through the implementation of the ACT Health Action Plan 2002 and aims to be recognised for delivering the best health care and health-related services in Australia. ACT Health incorporates The Canberra Hospital, Calvary Public Hospital, Community Health, Mental Health, Population Health and the Department of Health.


NSW Department of Health
Conference Partner

The NSW Department of Health is responsible for providing the people of NSW with the best health care, funding public health services, developing policy, supporting the statutory role of the Minister for Health, managing public health issues, and monitoring the performance of the health system. There are 17 Area Health Services (AHS), as well as the statewide services of the Ambulance Service of NSW, the Children's Hospital at Westmead, Corrections Health Service and the Institute for Clinical Excellence. Our aim is to provide a sustainable health system for the people of NSW, that not only meets today's health needs, but also plans for the health needs of the future. These functions include promoting, protecting, developing, maintaining and improving health and well-being of the people of NSW, while considering the needs of the state and the fi nances and resources available.


Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC)
Conference Partner

The Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care, established by Australian Health Ministers in 2000, is leading national efforts to improve patient safety and the quality of health care provision in Australia. Council initiatives are supported by all jurisdictions and focussed on supporting health care workers to deliver safer patient care, improving data and information for safer care, involving consumers in health care safety, redesigning safer systems of care and raising understanding of health care safety.


Exhibition

A wide and varied exhibition will be coordinated by the conference organisers. The exhibition will be held in the exhibition hall, of the National Convention Centre. A high degree of exposure for conference delegates to the exhibition will be ensured.

    Established in 1989 the Australasian Association for Quality in Health Care (AAQHC) exists to serve its members by:
  • providing support and encouragement to individuals and organisations seeking to improve health outcomes for consumers
  • providing a voice on safety and quality issues
  • facilitating opportunities for communication and cooperation as well as exchange of ideas and experiences
  • facilitating and supporting ongoing education and development
  • recognising qualifi cations and experience to Associate Fellow and Fellow status through a credentialling program.

    The AAQHC is uniquely placed to ensure the engagement of all stakeholders at state, national and international levels, in representing and leading the safety and quality agenda.
