The 2nd Australasian Conference on Safety and Quality in Health Care "Safety and Quality in Action", will provide a stimulating meeting for people committed to improving the safety and quality of health care.
This annual event is the result of a strategic partnership that will enable delegates to access the most up to date knowledge, theories and tools on safety and quality improvement.
International Speakers will include Helen Bevan, PhD, Director of Service Redesign, NHS Modernisation Agency.
CONFERENCE THEMES INCLUDE:
1. GOVERNANCE - The Clinical Governance agenda is one of the most important reform initiatives occurring in healthcare today requiring Rigorous processes and reporting systems to develop a culture where continuous quality improvement will flourish. Implementing effective Clinical Governance Frameworks and measuring the outcomes of these frameworks are challenges facing healthcare leaders today.
2. CAPACITY BUILDING - Improving health system infrastructure and the capacity of healthcare professionals to effectively manage the services they provide with well-established quality and safety programs is a major challenge. Your project may demonstrate improved staff performance, attraction and retention approaches, team functioning, work flows and information management. Improving healthcare systems capacity to work more collaboratively with the community and other agencies is also an important objective.
3. CONSUMER EMPOWERMENT - How are we placing consumers at the forefront of healthcare and actively listening and learning from their experiences? How are we facilitating a shared partnership arrangement in undertaking quality and safety activities, health service planning and health treatment decision making to ensure safer, effective care?
4. HEALTH SYSTEM AND PROCESS REDESIGN - Where Innovative health systems designs are implemented to promote/improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery with particular reference to rural and remote communities.
5. ADVANCES IN PATIENT SAFETY - May include strategies for harnessing and utilising information to reduce error and improve safety, creating a culture of safety incorporating effective incident management systems, Root Cause Analysis and integrated risk management systems
