AAN YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
The Young Investigator Award is open to members or affiliates of the AAN who are in one of their two years of core training in 2002. We would like to have as many submissions as possible, ensuring that all submissions are from financial members of the AAN. The Scientific Program Committee will select the recipients.

To be eligible the investigator must:

be in one of their two years of core training in 2002

be an affiliate in training, a member or an associate member of AAN

be the first author on the paper

Please submit your abstract via the website and select poster or oral presentation.

LEONARD COX AWARD
The Leonard Cox Award is open to members of the AAN who have received their membership within the last five years, and have produced a body of scientific work. The application is by submission of a curriculum vitae and a two page description of the nature of their work, its scientific significance and its likely contribution to the field of neurology. The successful applicant will be invited to present the work as a half hour lecture at the meeting.

Please forward your applications to the Meeting Secretariat by Friday, 14 February.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts are invited for platform and poster presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting. Please note that there is limited space platform presentation. The AAN regards posters as an equivalent status to platform presentation and in many ways a superior method of communicating research findings. Abstracts will be chosen for platform presentation when there is a clear benefit or if they have synergies with other abstracts to ensure a coherent program.

On-line submission is the only method of receipt of Abstracts. An automatic electronic acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to you immediately following submission. Use the reference number provided and your personal password to edit the text of the Abstract. Abstracts can be edited up to, and no later than, the closing date submissions. No changes will be possible after submissions close on Friday, 14 February. The Abstract submission link will be removed from this website on Monday, 17 February.

Please limit your abstract to a maximum of 300 words.

POSTERS
All posters will be displayed in the Exhibition area of the duration of the Meeting. Presenters will need to be in attendance at their poster for group and personal discussion during the specified poster discussion sessions.

Neurological Grand Rounds

We invite submissions of interesting cases for presentation in the Neurology Grand Rounds. Please submit a one page description of your case, providing sufficient information for the chairs and Scientific Program Committee to select the most appropriate cases.

Only cheques drawn on Australian banks can be accepted.

Each registrant must complete a separate form.

REGISTRATION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND CONFIRMATION
Your registration will be acknowledged by fax or post confirming your requirements. Attendance at the Meeting, however, will not be confirmed until full payment is received by the Secretariat.

REGISTRATION ALTERATIONS
Please fax, e-mail or post any amendments to the Meeting Secretariat. Alterations to your registration will not be accepted over the telephone.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Registration cancellations must be advised in writing to the Meeting Secretariat. Cancellations received prior to Friday, 14 March will receive a refund of registration fees less an administrative charge of $110.00. No refunds will apply after this date.

LIABILITY
The Australian Association of Neurologists reserves the right to amend any part of the Meeting program should numbers of participants require it to do so.

The Australian Association of Neurologists including the Meeting Secretariat will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons, or loss of, or damage to, their personal property as a result of the Meeting or related events.

In the event of industrial disruption or other unforeseen circumstances, the Meeting Organisers accept no responsibility for loss of monies incurred by delegates. Delegates should make their own arrangements with respect to personal insurance.

PRIVACY LEGISLATION
In registering for this Meeting, relevant details will be incorporated into a participant list for the benefit of all delegates (name and organisation only). Details may be available to parties directly related to the Meeting including the venues and accommodation providers (for the purpose of room bookings and Meeting options), key sponsors (subject to strict conditions) and to inform you of future Australian Association of Neurologists Scientific Meetings. The flexibility associated with Group or 'Conference airfares' is excellent. There are no minimum stay-away requirements pertaining to the destination of travel. Accommodation

The Meeting Secretariat will be pleased to make reservations on your behalf. Special rates have been secured. Please complete the separate accommodation form and return to the Secretariat prior to Monday, April 2003. Any booking received after this date cannot be guaranteed.

Accommodation will be allocated in order of receipt of bookings and payment. Early booking is advised.

ARRIVAL TIME
Please indicate on your registration form your estimated time of arrival at the hotel. Check in time is 15:00 for all three properties. Should you wish to guarantee a room for your arrival prior to that time, it is recommended that you book and pay for the room for the evening prior to your arrival.

CANCELLATION OF BOOKING
Please notify the Meeting Secretariat in writing of any changes to your booking. Changes should not be sent directly to the hotel. Accommodation bookings cancelled after Monday, 7 April 2003 will forfeit the deposit.

CHANGE OF BOOKING
Please notify the Meeting Secretariat in writing of any changes to your booking. Changes can be made prior to 7 April free of charge.

Any hotel booking or amendments received after 7 April will be subject to hotel availability and an administration fee of $25.00. Accommodation rates are room only per night, per room, and do not include breakfast. Room rates include 10% GST.

DEPOSIT
A deposit equivalent to one night's room tariff (as indicated on the accommodation booking form) is required to secure your reservation. Reservations will not be confirmed unless this payment is received. The accommodation deposit is payable to ICMS Travel and should be made separately from the registration fee payment. The deposit will be forfeited if the room is not occupied on the advised arrival date.
